The club is focused on the development of swimmers from the age of 8 to 18 with a clear objective of reaching a competitive standard of an open gala through to County or Regional finals, and beyond. 4SSC has a supportive committee, mainly the parents of the swimmers, who create a social friendly environment.
We ask for real commitment to training and in return offer the swimmers a great chance to develop their confidence and extend their opportunities.
Four Shires Swimming Club (or 4SSC for short) has a vision to provide swimmers with the optimum environment and the right opportunities at each stage of their development to enable them to achieve excellence….our programme is designed to encourage swimmers of all abilities to enter a competitive environment with enjoyment being the club ethos.
4SSC is based in Chipping Norton, with members of the club coming from across Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire.
4SSC uses several pools across the two counties for training sessions, including Leisure Centres in Chipping Norton & Bourton-on-the-Water, pools at two independent schools, Sibford and Kingham Hill as the pool at the Fire Training College near Moreton in Marsh.
The club has an excellent coaching team who have the desire and enthusiasm to get the best out of the swimmers whatever their goals may be.
Why Choose 4SSC?
We offer a broad range of venues and times to suit many swimmers and structure our squads to ensure that we can cater for your individual needs.
We are a friendly club and try and make sure that the children enjoy their training and experience the thrill of competition as regularly as possible.
What We Do
We train and develop young swimmers to fulfil their potential in the pool whether it is in competition at local or county level and beyond, or if it's simply to improve their fitness through this demanding yet enjoyable sport.
Our group of 3 main coaches have a wealth of experience and will initially assess your child and develop a programme for them to suit their needs and enable them to progress through the squads towards those all-important personal bests!
